HISTORY
- born the runt of three to a young wandering couple by the names of raine and ewan. the pair were set to spend their days venturing across the lands to visit all kinds of places with their children.
- they brushed off the fact their youngest was weaker than the rest with assurances he'd get stronger as he grew, but only a few months after they set off on their travels once again they came to realise that he would only be dead weight to them. his siblings were sprightly and energetic whilst he was weak and reserved, and one morning he simply awoke to find his family having moved on without him.
- at the age of 7 months he was too young to really comprehend such a notion and so, despite being weighed down by his fragile health, ploughed on in search of his deserted family.
- luckily a viridian couple came across him just a few days later and compassionately took the weak kitten under their wing as if he were their own, naming him 'wilfre' in honour of one of their own kits that had been stillborn. he was raised with their own son and whilst he revered them as his true family, he wasn't young enough not to recall his initial desertion. it shadowed him in the years that followed.
- however the ensuring of his wellbeing had had its cost. whilst he'd been pampered his adoptive sibling grew sour at how this strange new kitten had stolen the devotion of both of their parents from them, and didn't go out of their way to mask their distaste for him from spitting insults or shoving his head into rocks. and wilfre, as indifferently compliant as he'd mellowed out to be, never retaliated. which in a way, only seemed to piss his sibling off more.
- to the parents' surprise the kitten that had initially struck them as a runt turned out to simply be a late bloomer; by the age of 14 months he was taller than his sibling, his mother and even his father, and his health had improved drastically under the tender care of his new parents.
- however by the age of 20 months his adoptive father passed away to a terrible fever, leaving him under the care of his sickly, oblivious mother and more prone to the wrath of his spiteful sibling.
- during the months that followed, having shrunk out of his shell in seek of outside comfort now that his father was gone, he came to befriend the cats that would one day turn out to be his fellow council members. a certain reservation had been beaten into wilfre by his jealous sibling by the time he was appointed to the role, although those close to him seemed to know that his impartial and mediative capabilities would make a practical addition to the council. and so there he has remained for several months, working comfortably behind the scenes and keeping a silent, vigilant eye over viridity's lands from atop the oak tree that he's made his den.
