HISTORY
Grayson was separated from his mother and siblings at birth, and remembers nothing of his family. He was raised by a caring human couple, where they lived in an old wooden cottage. The humans were always very kind and always fed him plenty of the nicest food.
When Grayson was only two months old, he was taken to a far-off place. Grayson didn't understand where he was, and he had never been in such an environment. The next thing he knew, Grayson was missing his front claws. He was devastated and extremely confused. He didn't understand why his humans let this happen to him. He needed his claws, they were a part of him, and now they had been taken away. After the event, Grayson found he couldn't climb properly, he couldn't scratch his fur, he couldn't think properly. He couldn't feel his claws sink into the earth below him. Grayson had found himself crying every night.
Although Grayson was still young and didn't know how to hunt, he always thought he could eventually teach himself when he would be old enough, but now he knew he would never learn how to hunt, or even defend himself properly. Although he did have his teeth and back claws, his front claws were his first line of defence, and he used them far more often. Knowing this, Grayson lived in fear if that his human carers were to ever leave, he would surely be at mother-natures will. He relied on the humans to give him a warm, dry place to sleep, and all the food he needed.
One morning, Grayson found out his worst fears had become true, when he discovered the couple was suddenly missing from the cottage. They weren't always present, but they always let him know if they were ever leaving, and a new human would come and care for him until they were back. Grayson knew this was different. The humans had left without no warning, and no other human was there to look after him. Grayson panicked, and darted out the open window. His stomach twisted, he knew this was the end for him. He burst into tears.
The cat decided to let the night pass, to see if the human couple were to come back, but they didn't. He waited another night, still no sign of them. At this point, Grayson was getting desperate. Starving and in need of help, the cat set out into the depths of the forest, where he had rarely gone so deep into and was always afraid to do so.
When he was almost about to give up, Grayson saw a mottled brown molly, with short legs and wide grey eyes. This was the first time young Grayson had saw another cat before, and he was overjoyed. He pleaded for her help, and she accepted, bringing him into the colony. He was happily accepted and from then on, lived in peace and no longer in fear.
Although Grayson was always trying to hide the fact he had missing claws, and always saying he didn't hunt because he didn't like it and he was extremely bad at it, not that it was false or anything. In fact, even if he did have claws, he knew he still wouldn't have enjoyed hunting. He prefered caring and helping others.
A while after, being brought into Viridity, being taught the colony's practices, Grayson was selected to be the trainee of Ann, the cat who he had first met! He knew helping others is what he wanted to do ever since joining Viridity. He wanted to help others in need just like he was helped when he was in need. Not just physically but also mentally. Grayson was comfortable talking to Ann about what he went through in the past and the absence of his front claws. She had helped his emotional wounds heal and overall had helped him boost his self-confidence and self-esteem. Grayson looked up to Ann as almost like a mother-figure, and having her training him was what he always had wanted. He could never have been happier, and thanked her, and the rest of Viridity for the wonderful life that he had been granted.
More to come...
