viridityUnderneath the loving eye of the fabled goddess Eden, this colony thrives as a safe haven for all those who wish to leave the conflict and disharmony of their past lives behind. Their philosophies are simple: love the land that cares for them so kindly, and love your not only your associates but the beliefs that define them. For some unspoken reason, this colony is mostly made up of tomcats, and this applies to their wise council members too. Every council member in the history of this colony has been a male, bar a few inspirational and passionate queens. There has always been three members on the council, and they always become the closest of friends through a series of challenging, but overall enjoyable quests that arise every now and then.
From the moment a kitten is born into this colony, or a newcomer joins their ranks, they will be taught three things: how to be kind, how to appreciate beauty, and how to take care of themselves. For the Viridians don't see the point in all camping together like the other colonies, every night retiring to the same nest. They sleep wherever they please, with whoever they want. In the center of their territory is a clearing of flowers where they will gather for special events and ceremonies, but otherwise they are free to roam. Although, a large majority of the cats like to sleep in big groups, all huddled up in a different location every night, watching the stars spin.
Any cat from Viridity could tell you that the highest honour is to bring beauty into this world, which is why they give so much respect to mothers. An expecting or nursing queen is given the best of everything, and admired by all for being so brave as to carry new life. Because of this philosophy, Viridians don't care so much about taking one single mate and settling down. It is far more common for toms to father kittens when a she-cat asks them to, and of course it is entirely up to her if she wants to carry kits or not.
Because the Viridians are so welcoming of outsiders, there is a huge variety of fur patterns, colors, and types. But the descendants of the original members are mostly blacks, greys, and whites. There also seem to be a lot of tabbies in this colony, but there is no specific reason for this. Their territory is a light forest dotted with clearings and meadows on each border. Running alongside the river, this stretch of land curves around until it begins to slope upwards into their neighbor, Soror. Nobody from this colony is particularly strict about intruders, and let cats from their sister colony roam freely. Within reason of course.
