Do you believe youβre missing out?Everything good is happening somewhere else? But with nobody in your bedThe nightβs hard to get through
Endless black dotted with sparkling stars painted the sky. There wasn't a cloud in the sky above Patria that night. The moon was heavy and full, shining its light down throughout the forest. It shone particularly bright in one spot- a small cottage in a clearing. It was an old thing, bricks cracked and ivy curling its way up the walls. But for many cats it was home. Tonight a figure could be spotted sitting atop the tall chimney. A cat. He looked off into the distance with a troubled gaze. His name was Fir, and a season ago he had lost his best friend to the ranks of Soror. She was out there somewhere. Beyond the cottage, beyond the trees, sleeping somewhere in a deep ravine with her new colonymates. Without him.The tom frowned. The night she'd left he was planning on asking her to be his mate, but fate had had other things in store. Now she was gone. Flirting with other toms and hunting for a different colony. Lightning would never strike the sturdy Fir ever again. No shock, no fire, no love. He'd gotten over her leaving for the most part, but nights like this... Nights like the one she'd left... Always made him think of her. He squinted, trying to see past the treetops and into the arid cliffs that made up Soror's stomping grounds. He could just barely make out the peaks, but nothing further. Disappointment pricked his paws. He really did do this more often than he should if he wanted to get over it. But he just needed... time. Maybe she would come back. Who could know? With a sigh Fir walked in circles, making himself comfortable on one of the walls of the chimney, and then laid down. This was going to be a long night.
